BLIZZARD!!!

Hello, internet! Maggie the Cavachon here!

Guess what’s happening in my life? Well, for one thing Winston-Salem (my town) is having a huge snow storm! The magic box told me that I should expect at least ten inches of snow. That’s more snow than I’ve ever seen in my life!

Of course, I’ve been playing my favorite snow day game: “catch the snowball” today. Casey rolls up some snow into a ball
then she either tosses it to me or throws it up in the air, and I try to catch it.

By the end of the day, I was up to my neck in snow! Casey said that it looked as though my head was just floating around
on the ground, because my body wasn’t visible. I also played with my friends Chloe and Frosty in the snow. Frosty is a Bichon Frise,
so he’s white. It was really hard to see him in the snowdrifts!

I had so much fun playing in the snow! But between romping and typing, I am exhausted!

Goodnight!

Science Fair

Hello, World! Maggie the Cavachon here!

Casey is doing a science fair project. She is testing to see if dogs are left or right "pawed." One of our dog trainers had told us that just like people, all dogs are right or left handed, or pawed I should say. To find this out, Casey asks dogs to "shake hands." Whichever paw dogs use to shake with is that dog's domanant paw. Casey has been using me and a lot of my friends to complete her experiment. I thought it was fun and was happy to help. (Make sure to check out my "Happy New Year" blog if you haven't already!)

I need to go now. I can see a tenis ball out of the corner of my eye and it's waiting to be chased!

Happy New Year

On Thursday Night, there was all kinds of excitement about New Years Eve – whatever that is. Casey and her friends were talking about staying up late and having celebrations for some reason. As you can see, I treated it like any other night.

Casey and her friend Madeline decided to take their dads and celebrate the New Years by running in a 5K race at midnight. It was at Tanglewood Park and they were able to run through the Festival of Lights decorations – that sounds like fun. I hear that some dogs got to run with their owners. I may have stayed up until midnight for that!

I think Casey and Madeline did great. I’m not so sure their dads did quite so well.

Have a great 2010 everybody!

A dog’s shoulder blades are unattached to the rest of the skeleton to allow greater flexibility for running.
